
New range of flight recorders

New generation flight recorders have been released by 3 different manufacturers, featuring built-in rechargeable lithium batteries, and very compact dimensions.
About the size of a match box, LxNavigation’s new Colibri II incorporates a sunlight readable display with variometer, ground speed, altitude and wind readout and thermal centering assistance. The GPS antenna is built in and is extremely sensitive. The IGC required pressure sensor and engine noise sensor is included. A micro SD card is used for flight down load and firmware update and the mini-USB socket is used for charging the battery from a PC and for NMEA data stream to other devices.
LxNAV’s Nano very compact flight recorder is IGC approved and features an integrated 66-channel GPS receiver with built-in antenna and battery allowing up to 12 hours of stand-alone operation. Bluetooth is used for easy data exchange with a PDA. A 2GB SD card is used for flight data storage.
Latest on the market is flyWith CE’s FR300 low cost, GPS-only flight recorder, also with a built in rechargeable battery and configured like USB memory stick. Provided with custom down load software and logbook, it can display a track log directly onto Google Earth, or in more detail in programs such as SeeYou.
French Interior Ministry chooses S15 PATROLLER

For early detection and localisation of fires a PATROLLER developed by SAGEM and STEMME is tested by the French Interior Ministry. The aircraft is flown in autonomous operation mode over southern France. PATROLLER is equiped with a gyrostabilized Euroflir camera.

GROB and LS4 spare parts

PJ Aviation is pleased to announce that spares for the GROB
G102, G103 series of sailplanes and the G109 and G109B motor
gliders are now freely available. Besides spares and support,
we can also provide up to date details of technical bulletins
pertaining to any model. There are also plans to begin producing
the rugged and highly successful G109B motor glider again,
with a choice of engines. GROB Aircraft re-started production
this year with a bang with an order of 20 G115 trainers for
the UK.
AMS Flight’s new production of the LS4 b means that
spares, components and upgrades such as the new curved winglets
for the series are now available through PJ Aviation. The
LS4 is renowned for its docile handling and top performance
in the standard class. Over 1000 are operating world wide.
HpH Sailplanes

HPH Sailplanes announce that the EASA certification of the HpH304S is past the 90% mark. The wing bend test is imminent and the final stage in the certification process. EASA have allowed the production and delivery of 21 304S to customers around the world. At a price 20% lower than other 18m self launchers, the 304S has a bright future.
